After four years of planning, fundraising, designing and building refurbishment, the Edwardian pavilion at the centre of Spencer Park has been rescued from decay and is now open!

Spencer Park Community Café serves hot and cold drinks, cakes and snacks. They plan to start serving hot food soon.

With help and support, Friends of Spencer Park have raised over £500,000 from national funding organisations and through the generosity of the local community. They would like to thank you all!

Peter Elias, funding advisor to the Friends, said, "This shows just what a local community can do when they are galvanised in their efforts. The strength of their support helped us to persuade local and national funding organisations to provide the resources we needed."

Ken Taylor, chair of the Friends of Spencer Park added, "This is a wonderful demonstration of the ways in which members of our diverse local community can pull together for the benefit of present and future park users." They hope to see you in the café soon!
