Festival of Archaeology

Join us for a fun, hands-on day exploring the archaeology of Charterhouse and the heritage of Coventry. Try your hand at mock excavations, explore geophysical surveys, get involved with site material displays and archaeology trails, and enjoy interactive activities for children. Delivered in collaboration with Medieval Coventry, Historic Coventry Trust, CADAS, Coventry City Council, John Muir Trust, Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, University of Leicester and PAS as part of the Council for British Archaeology’s UK-wide festival.

Helios at Coventry Charterhouse

Helios is a 7-metre spherical sculpture of the sun by artist Luke Jerram, featuring NASA-recorded sounds and high-resolution solar imagery. Suspended in the walled garden, this immersive installation invites visitors to explore the sun’s detail and power in a new light.
