CovLitFest | Beyond Words

CovLitFest is a free community literary festival bringing two days of book-related talks, workshops, readings, and children's activities to venues across Coventry city centre.

CovLitFest 2026 | Literary Festival in Coventry

  • Price: Mostly free; small charge for some workshops

CovLitFest is a collaboration of words, ideas, and creativity — by the community, for the community. The programme across the three days includes:

  • Beyond Words | Friday 26th June |10am–2pm | Coventry Cathedral — stalls from local writers and groups, drop-in writing activities for adults, children's activities, and a chance to browse and buy books and meet local authors
  • Vibrations Poetry Night |Friday 26th June | 7pm for 7.30pm start | Coventry Caribbean Association — an open mic poetry night hosted by Dr. G
  • Talks, Readings & Workshops | Saturday 27th June | Priory Visitors' Centre & Central Library — including children's activities; further details to be announced

Speakers and workshop leaders include Coventry-born author Ann Evans, poet and Coventry Poet Laureate Andrea Mbarushimana, fantasy author Anna Stephens, and historian Pippa Virdee, among others. See the full schedule for the latest updates.
