Three days of free family fun at the Belgrade! Here's the full programme:
Thursday 29th May
- Rhymetime (ages 0–5) | 12.30pm | Burbidge Room — Coventry Library Services' Rhymetime session to encourage fun and engaging language use in toddlers. No booking required.
- Sling Library (ages 0–2) | 12noon – 2pm | Screen Room — Coventry Sling Library offers safe and unbiased help for parents and caregivers wishing to carry their children, promoting the benefits of babywearing. No booking required.
- Stay and Play (ages 0–2) | 12noon – 2pm | Screen Room — A warm, sensory-rich drop-in session with wooden toys, open-ended resources, and natural and recycled materials to encourage exploration and imaginative play. No booking required.
Friday 30th May
- Action Art Play (ages 4–11) | 11am, 12noon, 2pm & 4pm | Screen Room — Part workshop, part exhibition, children and grown-ups play the 'Meadow Maker' game, creating and moving nature-themed art to produce an ever-expanding interactive installation. Sessions are 40 minutes. Book your preferred time online.
- Family Games Workshop (ages 5+) | 11am – 12noon | Weston Learning Space — A fun-filled session of practical games led by an experienced facilitator, designed for families to participate and play together. Adults must stay with their child. Free but must be booked in advance.
- Nature Makers (ages 2+) | 11am – 3pm | Burbidge Foyer — A calm, creative drop-in session of nature-themed arts and crafts. No booking needed — just bring your imagination!
- Drama Workshop Taster Session (ages 8–12) | 2.30pm | Weston Learning Space — A free taster session for young people interested in acting, offering fun practical drama activities led by experienced facilitators. No previous experience needed; parents do not need to stay. Free but must be booked in advance.
Saturday 31st May
- Action Art Play (ages 4–11) | 10am, 12noon, 2pm & 3pm | Screen Room — As above. Book your preferred time online.
- Nature Makers (ages 2+) | 11am – 3pm | Burbidge Foyer — Drop-in nature-themed arts and crafts. No booking needed.
- Storytime (ages 3–7) | 12noon | Burbidge Room — Let the magic of words transport your little ones to another world, led by the Coventry Library Service. No booking required.
Please note: for all events except the Drama Workshop Taster, grown-ups must be present to supervise their children throughout. The lift to areas above the first floor is currently out of service — the Weston Learning Space is accessible via stairs only. The Screen Room, Burbidge Room, and Burbidge Foyer remain accessible by lift.
