Naylor’s Ark is hosting a fun, family-friendly Halloween trail with tricks, treats and animal encounters, helping its small sanctuary care for its animals through winter.

Tricks, Treats & Tails!

Enjoy a Halloween adventure with a big purpose at Naylor’s Ark! Created with the help of students from Hereward College and the Home Education Hub, this special trail combines seasonal fun with a chance to support a small animal sanctuary.

Children can meet the sanctuary animals, follow the Halloween trick-or-treat trail, collect treats at ten stops and take on five optional interactive challenges. There’s also a special prize waiting at the finish, plus opportunities for family photos and autumn memories.

The five tricks include navigating a spider’s web, guessing what’s inside the Witch’s Box, taking on an apple bobbing challenge, trying Witch’s Flying School and feeding pretend treats to a hungry monster. The activities are designed to be playful rather than frightening, with alternatives available for some challenges.

Families can also add an optional pumpkin experience for £5 per child. Choose a pumpkin, decorate or carve it with appropriate adult supervision, and take your creation home. Suitable pumpkin pieces can be offered to designated animals under staff supervision.

Naylor’s Ark is a small sanctuary that receives no external funding. Every ticket helps towards the cost of animal feed, bedding and winter care, so your family day out will support a lovely local cause.

The trail aims to be welcoming for families who find traditional Halloween attractions overwhelming, with no jump scares, deliberately frightening performers or flashing strobe lights. Children can skip any trick and enjoy the experience at their own pace.
