This February half term, The Piano School is offering three fun, creative workshops for children of different ages. Sessions are suitable for a variety of age groups, with no prior musical experience needed, making them ideal for curious beginners and confident creatives alike.

Movie Music Makers (8-11 year olds)

• Date: Tuesday 17th February 2026
• Time: 9:30am-12pm 
• Suitable for: Open to all children aged 8-11 – no musical or film experience required!

Have you ever wondered how movies get their music? Then join us on Tuesday 17th February as we step into the exciting world of film composing! In this workshop, kids become the creative minds behind the magic of film sound. From footsteps and thunder to music that sets the mood, students will explore how sound brings scenes to life.

What to expect:

• Create sound effects for real movie clips
• Learn how sound changes the mood of a scene
• Work with instruments, objects and digital tools
• Learn basic composing techniques in a fun, supportive setting

Looking for something to do with the little ones over the February half term? Then join The Piano School on Wednesday 18th February as we meet a very famous caterpillar who turned into a butterfly! Chomp, flutter and make caterpillar soup, all while learning the basics of the piano. Our music workshops are creative, fun and interactive, perfect for energetic 4 and 5 year olds! Is your child curious about storytelling? Do they like to make music and draw? Well, this workshop brings all those things together in one creative morning! In this fun and imaginative session, children will:

• write their own story
• create original music on the piano for each part
• draw their own illustrations
• see it all come together in a video for them to share with family and friends

It’s a wonderful way to combine writing, music and art – and to make something they can keep forever!
