What to expect at The Green Fairy Trail

Walking the Trail

The trail takes around 20-30 minutes to complete, so it's perfect for little feet and the main path is suitable for pushchairs too.

Educating Kids about Sustainability

Children LOVE toys but did you know that 90% of toys are made from some form of plastic and most of them aren’t recyclable?

Everything at The Green Fairy Trail is recycled, donated or salvaged, encouraging play and imagination without creating more waste for the landfill. There are lots of useful signs and facts dotted around the trail, so it's perfect for educating the little ones about the environment.

Bring your own creation!

You are welcome to create something for the fairies, please be mindful around the materials you use, recycling or upcycling where possible to keep in line with the Green Fairy theme of sustainability.

A new addition to the Green Fairy Trail is the new mini walk, Rainbow Alley! If you wish to add something just make a rainbow themed creation and bring it along for the fairies to enjoy!

Picnic Area

There are plenty of picnic benches available to use, so don't forget to pack a yummy lunch or snack!

Wishing Tree

During your visit look out for the Wishing Tree. Everything will go to the chosen charity of the year - Foot Prints Animal Sanctuary, where the two lovely piggies came from. They do an amazing job offering sanctuary and safety to unwanted and rescued farm animals.

Mud Kitchen

Stop and have a play at the glorious Mud Kitchen! Just a couple of discarded pallets and some old pots and pans provide hours of imaginative play and discovery, proving children don’t need expensive landfill toys to have fun.

Worry Remover

One of the new installations at the Green Fairy Trail, a gorgeous new worry remover created by the talented Georgie Neath.

The Pigs

There are two young rescue pigs onsite who are always grateful for any leftover fruit and vegetables.

Heart of the Country Shopping Village

The trail is based at Heart of the Country Shopping Village, just 2 miles South of Lichfield on the A38. The Village has a large free car park, toilets and a selection of independent shops and restaurants. Visit the website for more information.
