Here's what to expect:
Safari Drive Through
AFRICAN PLAINS
Home to a herd of southern white rhino and one of the Park’s most popular sights and experiences – the elegant giraffe. Not to mention the well-known stripes of a zebra, prized Ankole cattle, ellipsen waterbuck, Congo buffalo, swamp-loving red lechwe, ostrich and the eland, largest of all antelope species.
WILD ASIA
An area of contrasts, from the amazing armoured greater one horned rhino to the dainty blackbuck.
Not forgetting of course the worlds rarest deer, the Philippine spotted deer and the endangered barasingha!
CARNIVORES
An area of the Safari drive-through that is home to some of the world’s greatest hunters. From magnificent and powerful tigers, to the world’s fastest land mammal – the cheetah. As well as a pack of rare African painted dogs, and the king of the beasts – the African lion.
ELEPHANT VALLEY
See the fantastic and extremely clever African elephants as they explore their surroundings in Elephant Valley. Also see the young elephant, Sutton! He may be seen most days charging around Elephant Valley under the watchful gaze of Mum Five and Aunt Latabe.
Discovery Trail at West Midland Safari Park
In the all-weather Discovery Trail, you can visit a variety of species and watch the informative animal encounters, talks & shows.
PENGUIN COVE
Observe the Humboldt penguins emerging from the water to “chill” on their beach. Wild Humboldt penguins live on the rocky islands and coasts of Peru and Northern Chile. Don’t miss the daily Penguin Feeds, where you get the chance to learn even more about these fascinating seabirds!
SEA LION THEATRE
Enter the specially designed theatre to watch the California sea lions show off their amazing skills in the daily shows, approx 15 minutes long.
LORIKEET LANDING
Get up close to the amazing flock of rainbow lorikeets in this heated indoor exhibit. Their specially designed walk-through enclosure includes state of the art eco heating to help these Australasian parrots feel at home at a balmy 18*C. Lorikeet Landing provides the chance to walk amongst one of the largest flocks in the UK.
REPTILE WORLD
Visit some of the largest and most deadly reptiles from all around the globe. Everything from iguanas, and tree frogs to boas and anacondas. Watch a daily Reptile Talk from one of the expert reptile keepers.
CREEPY CRAWLIES
Home to some of the creepiest crawliest creatures including fascinating tarantulas, infestations of hissing cockroaches, amazing leaf cutting ants and a plague of locusts!
AQUARIUM
Experience aquatic life from different regions of the world, including many of the tropical oceans and the Amazon river. Watch piranhas devouring their food, a clownfish or two hiding amongst the anemones, and brightly coloured reef fish from around the world.
AFRICAN VILLAGE
The African Village houses three species of lemur, a mob of meerkats and a group of guineafowl!
Land of the Living Dinosaurs
See the UK’s largest animatronic Dinosaur attraction! Get ready to be transported back in time and see the story of the Dinosaurs unfold over millions of years…
- The first area you will come to is a time just before the dinosaurs appeared. The three animals in the Permian period are not actually dinosaurs – they are mammal-like reptiles (synapsids).
- Next is the beginning of the Mesozoic era where dinosaurs, mammals and flying reptiles first appear.
Here you will find the eoraptor, which is widely regarded as the first ‘true’ dinosaur. - Widely known as the ‘Age of Reptiles’, the Jurassic period had creatures like the herbivorous stegosaurus, with its distinctive back plates and tail spikes and the mamenchisaurus with the longest neck compared to body of any dinosaur!
- Some of the most recognisable dinosaurs you will meet lived during this period, including velociraptor, triceratops, spinosaurus and the infamous T-rex – one of the largest land predators of all time!
Ice Age at West Midland Safari Park
Go on a prehistoric journey of life on Earth after the dinosaurs became extinct. Wander through an enormous rumbling volcano and pass through a huge atmospheric ice cave…
Boj’s Giggly Park
Bring your little ones to Boj’s Giggly Park, the multi-sensory play area where kids can explore and play in the five interactive zones, designed specifically for younger visitors!
