The Nook is a cosy, stylish and welcoming café in the lovely village of Berkswell, just outside Coventry. There's two beautifully decorated spaces to choose from, with plenty of different seating options. The menu includes breakfast, lunch and cakes, with great coffee and cold drinks too. There's always lots of delicious cakes to choose from, including vegan and low gluten options. 

Situated in the old Berkswell Stores, it's a great spot to meet a friend for coffee and cake or stop in for something more substantial after a walk through the beautiful countryside that surrounds Berkswell village. In the summer, enjoy your cake (or an ice-cream) on the village green just outside the café.

Babies, toddlers and breastfeeding mums are all warmly welcome at The Nook. There's even a basket of children's books and toys to keep little ones entertained while you finish your coffee in peace. 

Dog friendly

Well-behaved dogs are welcome both inside and out — ideal if you've just come in from a walk through the nearby fields. The Nook will even treat your furry friend to a free dog biscuit and there's always a bowl of water on hand for thirsty pups!

Parking

There's on-street parking directly outside the café, a free car park in the Spinney next to the Scout House, or further parking on Meriden Road opposite Berkswell Reading Rooms.

Family Friendly Walk with a Café near Coventry

Fancy a walk and coffee shop trip with kids near Coventry? Berkswell is a lovely village to explore with children. Why not go for a short walk and play in the woods and stop in at The Nook for treats? Starting at The Nook, walk past the church and into the countryside. Follow the wooden walk way and then turn right towards the lake. Follow the path through the field and turn left into the woods at the top of the field. Don't forget to stick to the path! When you've finished exploring the woods, come back the way you came and enjoy some well deserved refreshments in The Nook!

Please note - children will require supervision, especially on the walkway, which is next to a stream and can be uneven in places. The route isn't buggy friendly.

Walking in Berkswell

The Nook is perfectly placed for walkers exploring the beautiful countryside around Berkswell. The village sits within lovely countryside and is connected to several well-known walking routes — making it a fantastic base for a coffee and a walk near Coventry. Fuel up before you go or look forward to a slice of cake and a hot chocolate or an ice-cream when you get back!

A great starting point for a walk is the Berkswell Short Circular Walk, a scenic route that takes in the Millennium Way and the beautiful countryside surrounding the village, before bringing you right back into the heart of Berkswell — and straight to The Nook's front door. 

The Nook is also a popular pit stop for cyclists passing through Berkswell Village.
