Abundance | Family Friendly Events in Coventry

Abundance is a free, family-friendly event celebrating light, hope and freedom.

Beginning and ending at the Indian Community Centre on Cross Road, the circular route will weave through residential streets and traverse one of Coventry’s most historic roads, the Foleshill Road.

Following the incredible Carnival of Lights in 2019, the streets will once again light up for an evening of light, performance and spectacle.

Come and watch the procession from the pavement at any point along the route, and enjoy an array of exciting performances including:

  • Dance routines choreographed by Kesha Raithatha (Associate Artistic Director, Aakash Odedra)
  • Fire walkabout show by Flame Oz
  • Walkabout performance by Kitsch & Sync
  • Coventry-based female drummers
  • Coventry based international dhol drummer Parv Kaur with Eternal Taal
  • Community-led lantern parade led by Coventry South Asian artists
  • Light-up umbrellas with Cirque Bijou
  • Light projection at St Paul’s Church
  • …and much more!

The Route

  • The procession will start in the car park of the Indian Community Centre on Cross Road at 5pm.
  • It will move in clockwise direction, turning right onto Princess Street, then right onto Broad Street, then right onto Foleshill Road. It will travel up Foleshill Road and turn right at Cross Road.
