The Allesley Festival returns for its 51st anniversary with a packed programme of events running across two weeks in July, with something for all the family.

Here's everything happening as part of this year's festival — themed Wonders of Nature:
Scarecrow Competition | 4th–12th July
Create a Wonders of Nature scarecrow and display it outside your home from 9am on 4th July to 6pm on 12th July. Entry forms (available in the festival magazine) must be handed in to Allesley Post Office by Monday 15th June. Pick up a map (£2, includes 2026 badge) from Allesley Post Office from 27th June to follow the trail around the village. Kindly sponsored by Matthew Owen Financial Services. Family Picnic & Teddy Zip Wire | Saturday 4th July | 10.30am–12.30pm
Bring your picnic and your teddy to All Saints Church for a brilliant new family event. Make a teddy superhero cape (£1), then watch your ted fly down the zip wire from the church tower (£1)! Games available from 50p. To prebook a zip wire time slot email families@allesleychurch.org.uk — walk-ins welcome. Wet weather plan: main church building.

Art Exhibition | Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th July | 10.30am–4.30pm
Free admission (donations welcome) to a wonderful exhibition of paintings and crafts by local people and members of art societies — many available to buy. Allesley Primary School's exhibition is also on display in the church during these times. At All Saints Church Hall, Allesley.

Carnival Procession | Saturday 11th July
The highlight of the festival! Floats assemble at The Jag, Fenton Road by 11.30am, judging at 12pm, procession departs at 12.30pm. The route goes from Fenton Road down Browns Lane, along Windmill Hill, onto Birmingham Road, left onto Lion Fields Avenue, right onto Barnfield Avenue, right onto Durham Crescent, ending at Antrim Close junction. Garden Walks | Sunday 5th July | 1pm–5pm
A rare opportunity to walk through some of Allesley's beautiful back gardens as residents open them up for the day. Programmes (£4 per person, children free) available from Allesley Post Office from 27th June, or on the day at the Scout Hut or Post Office. Tea and cakes available 1.30pm–4.30pm at Allesley Scout Hut (cash only). Assistance dogs only. Kindly sponsored by Mocha Lounge Coffee Shop and One Stop Winsford Avenue. Ladies Evening | Monday 6th July | From 7pm
A stylish evening at Jaguar Social Club with stalls, beauty treatments and a fashion show by Glitzy Bits of Coleshill. Tickets £4 on the door — ladies over 16 only, please bring cash. Contact Carol on 07745 954386.

Quiz Night | Tuesday 7th July | Doors 7pm, start 7.30pm
Can you become winners of the famous Allesley Festival Quiz? Quiz master Damian Grote hosts at Allesley Village Hall. £20 per team of up to 4 — bring your own refreshments. Book early to avoid disappointment. Call Damian on 07741 000415.

Cricket Match | Wednesday 8th July | From 6pm
Allesley Festival takes on Corley Cricket Club at Corley Cricket Club, Tamworth Road, CV7 8AA. Bar and food available on the night. Contact Damian Grote on 07741 000415.

Live Music - Echoes & Origins | Friday 10th July | 6pm for 7pm start
All Saints Churchyard hosts an evening of live music with Echoes & Origins, an acoustic trio of local musicians performing an eclectic mix of relaxed and sing-along hits from the last five decades. Bring your own supper, drinks, blankets and chairs. Advance tickets £8 | On the door £10 | Accompanied children free. Book via Eventbrite here or email admin@allesleychurch.org.uk to arrange collection. Wet weather plan: the church hall.
