A fun session playing and receiving tuition on how to play chess, perfect for ages 8-15! Beginners welcome.

Junior Chess Club | Chess Clubs in Coventry

• Dates: Tuesdays 4:30pm - 6pm (Term Time Only)

A typical week consists of 10-15minutes instruction to the group (sometimes split into 2 groups) on the demonstration board, 10-15 minutes solving puzzles and half an hour to play games against other children (we have just started a ladder system so we’ll pair the children roughly by ability). 

During the games the coaches and volunteers give advice to the players on moves they could have played when they see a big opportunity has been missed. During the session if we have children of different abilities or odd numbers of children then the children rotate playing against volunteers/coaches who give them instruction during the game.
