Art, crafts, music and dance are all set to feature in the Coventry Schools' Arts Week from 23rd to 28th June 2025, bringing a host of free cultural and creative experiences to the city's young people.

Monday 23rd June and  Tuesday 24th June - City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra online Wizard of Oz

Pupils will be taken on an interactive musical journey as a ten-piece CBSO ensemble deliver an immersive online  performance inspired by the Wizard of Oz.

Tuesday 24th June - Music Day at Warwick Arts Centre

The fabulous Butterworth Hall at Warwick Arts Centre will be the venue for a day of music celebratrion as school choirs and musicians converge for a programme of daytime and evening performances.

From Tuesday 24th June - Schools' Art Exhibition at the Herbert Museum and Art Gallery

Artworks from Coventry schools will be showcased in this dedicated exhibition at the Herbert Art Gallery which will remain throughout Arts Week and on through the summer

Wednesday 25th June - Rail200 visit to New Art Gallery Walsall

A specially arranged schools' visit to enjoy the collections of New Art Gallery Walsall, travelling by train as part of the Rail200 campaign

Friday 27th June - Lady Godiva: The Musical (Broadgate Square)

This promises to be an extravaganza of music and dance performance as schools come together to perform a special musical version of the Lady Godiva story, inspired by the book 'Lady Godiva's Birthday Suit' by local author Aaron Ashmore. Performance times 11:00 am to 11:45 am

Friday 27th June - Rail200 visit to Wolverhampton Art Gallery 

A specially arranged schools' visit to enjoy the collections of Wolverhamption Art Gallery, travelling by train as part of the Rail200 campaign

Saturday 28th June - Banner Parade and Booknic (War Memorial Park)

Closing off the week in style, the 'booknic' is a reading picnic that encourages people to relax, eat and chat about books. Launching with a parade of banners, this is an informal, free event for families to come along and enjoy a range of activities linked to reading, sport and arts. Drop in from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm


Show your support by visiting the Schools' Art Exhibition in the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum from 24th June, and come along to Broadgate on 27th June at 11am when schools will be performing Lady Godiva's Birthday Suit: The Musical.

On Saturday 28th June Coventry School children and their adults are invited to the Booknic in War Memorial Park to enjoy a range of activities in celebration of reading! Bring yourselves, any instruments or crowns you might have made, pre-loved books for the Great Big Book Swap and a picnic!
