A hands-on, family-friendly day celebrating wildlife and the future of a greener Coventry

  • Date: Saturday 18th April | 10am - 2pm
  • Location: War Memorial Park, Kenilworth Road, Coventry, CV3 6PT
  • Price: FREE - just pop along!

Join the Friends of Memorial Park alongside local parks staff for a special Day of Action for Nature, introducing exciting new plans to transform the former footgolf course into a thriving, biodiverse hub for wildlife.

This engaging, hands-on event invites the community to get involved in shaping the future of this green space. Throughout the day, visitors can take part in a range of fun and educational activities designed to support conservation efforts while learning more about the natural world.

From building bird boxes and bug hotels to taking part in real wildlife surveying, every activity contributes towards creating and improving habitats for the species that call the park home. It’s a fantastic opportunity for children to explore, discover, and connect with nature in a meaningful way.

What to expect:

  • Bird box making
  • Bug hotel building
  • Minibeast hunts
  • Wildlife surveying
  • Introduction to surveying techniques
  • Guided nature walks
  • Kick sampling demonstrations
  • Kids’ nature activities
  • Hot drinks and squash
  • And much more!

All activities will contribute towards the development of the new wildlife area, helping experts better understand how to protect and enhance habitats across the park.

Perfect for families, budding conservationists, and anyone who loves the outdoors, this is a brilliant way to get involved in a local project that will benefit Coventry’s wildlife for years to come.

Don’t miss out – come along and be part of something amazing for nature!
