Halloween Fun in Coventry City Centre

The Cursed Guildhall brings Halloween to one of Coventry's most historic buildings, giving families and visitors the chance to explore St Mary's Guildhall with a spooky twist.

During October half term, the Guildhall is taken over by Gertie the Witch and her friends, who have been busy making potions and creating wicked Halloween fun in the Great Hall.

There's something for different ages to enjoy, from a plague-themed family trail and Halloween crafts to meeting the witches and trying out activities. Older visitors can also brave an appointment with the Plague Doctor and discover more about the practices and history surrounding the plague.

The event is part of the Guildhall's regular admission, making it an opportunity to combine a Halloween activity in Coventry with a visit to one of the city's historic attractions.

What to Expect at The Cursed Guildhall

Visitors can expect a mixture of spooky activities, historical storytelling and Halloween entertainment, including:

• Meet Gertie the Witch and her fellow witch

• Potions and Halloween activities in the Great Hall

• Appointment with the Plague Doctor

• A Plague Doctor family trail

• Halloween-themed crafts

The Plague Doctor experience is available in the Princes Chamber in groups of up to six people at a time. It is included with admission, with time slots running approximately every 30 minutes and the interaction lasting around 15 minutes.

Tales of Tea: Halloween Afternoon Tea at St Mary’s Guildhall

Treat the little ones to a spooktacular afternoon tea at St Mary’s Guildhall! Children can enjoy a Halloween-themed treat in this historic Coventry venue, making it a magical seasonal experience for the whole family.

Please note: the children’s Halloween afternoon tea is only available for children accompanying a full-paying adult afternoon tea guest.
