Ghoulish Guildhall - 25th to 29th October 2025

Visitors are invited to enjoy a hauntingly delightful Halloween at St Mary’s Guildhall this October. Throughout the spooky season, families can uncover ghostly tales and explore the Guildhall’s fascinating history, which stretches back to the 14th century.

What to expect:

  • An eerie Guildhall atmosphere
  • Bone-tastic Trail - help piece together the scattered bones of Bobby Bones. 
  • Spooky Crafts – Get creative with Halloween-themed activities to spark the imagination.
  • Daily Ghost Tours – Running at 11:30am and 2:15pm, perfect for those curious about the Guildhall’s ghostly past. 
  • Make Corn Dolls in the Medieval Kitchen

Ghostly Guildhall Special Halloween Event - 30th & 31st October 2025

Step into the Ghostly Guildhall for an hour of Halloween magic with Mistress Moaning Mary and Wailing Willow!

Here’s what’s brewing:

  • Discover curious (and not-too-scary!) historical tales
  • Play spook-tacular Halloween games everyone will enjoy
  • Get crafty with hands-on activities

Bring your little ghouls and goblins for a spellbinding adventure of giggles, games, and ghostly fun - perfect for kids and kids-at-heart.

  • Dates: 30th & 31st October 2025
  • Times: 10:15am | 11:30am | 1:15pm
  • Prices: £10 per child / £6 per adult (Up to two accompanying adults per child)

This is a ticketed event, separate from the Ghoulish Halloween event. Book here 



Afternoon Tea with ‘Wailing Willow’ & ‘Mistress Moaning Mary’ - 30th & 31st October 2025

Hungry for more? Don't miss the 2:30pm session featuring ‘Mistress Moaning Mary’ and ‘Wailing Willow’. After that, you will enjoy a special Children’s Halloween Afternoon Tea at Tales of Tea, with Wailing Willow and Mistress Moaning Mary floating around for an hour.

  • Dates: 30th & 31st October 2025
  • Time: 2:30pm
  • Prices: £29.50 per child / £18.95 per adult for Cream Tea / £14.95 for Tea/Coffee with Cake (Up to two accompanying adults per child)

Please Note: This is a ticketed event and distinct from the regular Halloween afternoon tea. To participate, you must specifically book this event rather than the standard Halloween Afternoon Tea. Book here.

Accessibility

For everyone to enjoy St Mary’s Guildhall, there is a lift to the first floor and rising platform into the Muniment Room. There is a new spiral staircase to the 2nd floor and where access is not step free, 360 panoramic views of the rooms are available on the digital tour tablets.

There are toilet and baby changing facilities on the ground floor located opposite the Cloisters.
