A Magical Christmas Experience Near Coventry

Christmas comes to life at The Heart of England with a festive Santa’s Grotto and magical train ride near Coventry.

Families can arrive early and step into the festive Marquee Departure Lounge, where children can enjoy Christmas games and activities, write a letter to Santa at the North Pole Post Office and make magical reindeer food with Santa’s Elves.

Then it’s all aboard the Christmas train!

The magical train takes families on a festive journey through the woods, travelling beneath sparkling lights and through the picturesque Heart of England site on the way to Santa’s Workshop. A Head Elf accompanies the journey, helping to make the trip extra special for little ones.

At the end of the train journey, children can meet Santa in his enchanting Grotto and receive a small token gift to remember their magical visit.

The Christmas adventure continues with a journey through the woods aboard the festive train.

Children and families can travel beneath glittering Christmas lights and through the woodland surroundings as they make their way towards Santa’s Workshop. With a Head Elf helping to guide the experience, the train journey adds an extra sense of adventure to a traditional Santa’s Grotto visit.

NEW VR Christmas Sleigh Ride

For 2026, families can also experience the VR Christmas Sleigh Ride.

Join D.A.S.H. on a thrilling virtual rollercoaster-style adventure through LapLand. Fly over snow-covered forests, glide across frozen lakes and journey towards Santa’s Workshop in an immersive Christmas experience.

Festive Marquee Departure Lounge

Families are asked to arrive 45 minutes to 1 hour before their booked time slot so there is plenty of time to enjoy the Marquee Departure Lounge before the train journey.

The marquee provides festive games, activities and entertainment for children and families, including a North Pole Post Office and reindeer food-making activity with Santa’s Elves.

For the final booked time slot of the day, visitors should arrive at least one hour early, as it may not be possible to re-enter the marquee after visiting Santa.

The Santa’s Grotto experience runs in all weather conditions, so families should come prepared for outdoor conditions.

As the magical train travels through the woods, the ground can become muddy, particularly in wet weather. Appropriate outdoor footwear is strongly recommended.
