With around 13 "wow" moments across the approximately 2.4km route, there is something to discover around every corner. The trail takes approximately 60–90 minutes, depending on how quickly visitors walk and how long they spend enjoying the installations.

After exploring the Coombe Abbey Christmas lights, visitors can warm up around the firepits, enjoy festive food and drinks and toast marshmallows for the perfect winter evening.

A Christmas Light Trail for All Ages

The trail is entirely outdoors, so visitors should wrap up warmly and wear suitable footwear. The route follows established paths through the country park, with some sections using loose bark or chippings.

Tickets for Luminate Coombe Abbey 2026 must be booked online in advance. Entry is by timed slot, with spaces available at 15-minute intervals from 4.30pm onwards.

Tickets are limited for each timeslot and popular dates can sell out, particularly weekends, early evening slots and dates closer to Christmas. Visitors are advised to book early to secure their preferred date and entry time.

Food, Drinks & Marshmallows

There are festive food and drink options available during the experience, including hot chocolate, tea, coffee and mulled wine. Visitors can also enjoy marshmallows around the firepits.

Visitors are welcome to bring their own marshmallows and skewers.

Please note that outside alcohol is not permitted.

Luminate Coombe Abbey Parking

Parking is available at Coombe Abbey Park and costs £5 per car. Visitors are advised to add parking to their booking when purchasing tickets. Visitors should follow the signs and directions from the car-parking team when arriving.

Blue Badge holders are directed towards the disabled parking area, which is located as close as possible to the pedestrian entrance to the trail. Spaces cannot be guaranteed if the designated area is full.

Accessibility

Luminate Coombe has been designed to be as accessible as possible within the natural setting of Coombe Abbey Country Park.

The route is outdoors and follows established paths, although some sections have loose bark or chippings which can become more difficult to navigate in poor weather. Natural debris such as stones, leaves and twigs may also be present.

Accessible toilets are available in the Courtyard area and by the Kiosk in the park. Visitors can bring their own mobility scooter, although mobility aids are not available to hire.

If extreme weather makes the trail unsuitable for wheeled mobility aids, ticket transfers to a more suitable date may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Are Dogs Allowed at Luminate Coombe?

Dogs are not generally permitted at Luminate Coombe, apart from guide and assistance dogs.

However, Luminate is bringing back dog-friendly nights for 2026! Visitors should check the Luminate calendar for the dog symbol before booking. Dogs must remain on a short lead and under the control of a responsible adult, with a maximum of two dogs per adult.

Because the trail includes flashing lights, smoke effects, music and crowds, owners should also consider whether their dog will be comfortable in this type of environment.
