Introducing Luke Tobias
We’ll be diving into a decade-long journey with London based Artist Luke Tobias as he navigates us through the sea of pop culture.
“Join me in a journey through the past decade of artistic exploration, as I present a diverse collection of works that have shaped my creative evolution. This exhibition showcases pieces spanning more than 10 years, each representing a chapter in my artistic journey.
In addition to this retrospective, I am thrilled to unveil a new series of paintings reflecting on the transience of time. This collection delves into the essence of time itself, exploring its intricate nuances through a vivid interplay of pop culture references and symbolism. Bold, neon and vibrant colors infuse life into my creations, while hidden meanings invite viewers to peel back the layers of significance beneath the surface and draw their own conclusions.
As an artist who thrives on the intersection of popular culture and artistic expression, I am excited to share my interpretation of the world around us. Through this one-day exhibition, I invite you to embark on a visual escapade, where the past, present, and future converge in a symphony of color, music, symbolism, and expression.”
Local Artists
In addition, they will also be joined by local artists, Helen Plenderleith Greaves and [Classified] who will also be showcasing their work throughout the day.
Helen Plenderleith Greaves
Helen Plenderleith Greaves, hailing from Coventry, is a multifaceted artist with a penchant for exploration and experimentation across a myriad of artistic media. While Helen possesses a broad skill set, she has carved a niche for herself in the realms of printmaking and alternative process photography. Her artistic journey is not just about creating visually appealing pieces; it’s about diving deep into the visual representation of emotions, narratives, and symbolic elements. Currently, Helen’s artwork is a reflection of the intricate world of stories and mythologies, capturing their essence and presenting them through her distinctive lens and techniques.
Natalie Seymour
Natalie Seymour is a Coventry artist with a fascination of ruination, who finds beauty in decay. Ruins and decay have captivated people for centuries, whether they are the remains of a once glorious cathedral or the burnt shell of a manor house, ruins contain a mysterious allure that is often difficult to pin down. Using collage elements, Natalie portrays the confusing nature of exploring abandoned places where one decaying element often blurs into the next. Ruins stand as dilapidated time capsules, becoming a portal to another time. Natalie is pushing the boundaries of photography, experimenting digitally with a painterly aesthetic and has recently been exploring how bold colour and distortion of photographic elements can bring a new otherworldly power to overlooked and forgotten spaces.
Musical Performances
In the heart of Coventry, “Memberberries” promises not just a visual treat but also an auditory delight. They’re happy to announce musical performances at the event adding another layer of sensory experience to the exhibition.
