As the leaves begin to turn and the pumpkins ripen, Lichfield Maize Maze is transformed into a celebration of autumn, harvest and family traditions. Visitors can choose their own pumpkins straight from the field where they were grown, explore the spooky-but-not-scary maze, visit the much-loved Pumpkin House and enjoy a memorable autumn day out together.

Spooky Maize Mazes 

The maze takes on a whole new feel for October. Both the Main Maze and Mini Maze remain open, with brand-new spooky maze games to complete along the way. Designed to be fun rather than frightening, it’s an autumn adventure the whole family can enjoy together.

Every visitor receives a maze map, activity card and stickers to help complete the challenge.


Pick Your Own Pumpkins

There’s nothing quite like choosing the perfect pumpkin straight from the field where it was grown. Visitors can grab a wheelbarrow and explore the pumpkin patch, with more than 70 different varieties growing on the farm. From tiny munchkins to giant whoppers, there are pumpkins in all shapes, sizes and colours.

Once visitors have chosen their favourites, they can wheel them back to the gift shop, where they will be weighed and paid for before heading home. Book here


Photo Opportunities

No visit to Lichfield Maize Maze in October is complete without a visit to the Pumpkin House. For many families, it has become a yearly tradition and the perfect place to capture special autumn photographs together. Whether it’s a first visit or a fifth, visitors won’t want to forget their camera.

There are lots of other photo opportunities around the farm too!


Food & Drink

Whether visitors are warming up with a hot drink or stopping for lunch, there’s plenty to choose from. The Field & Flower Café serves hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, cakes and ice creams.

Quiet Time Sessions

Lichfield Maize Maze also offers two Quiet Time Sessions during the October season for visitors who would benefit from a quieter, more relaxed start to the day. 2026 dates:

  • Sunday 4th October

  • Friday 23rd October

Entry is between 9.00am and 10.00am, after which visitors are welcome to stay and enjoy the farm for the rest of the day.

Places are heavily capped, so early booking is highly recommended.

How to find Lichfield Maize Maze

The Maize Maze and pumpkins are located in a field and therefore they don't have a postcode. The postcode of the nearest building is WS14 0AW, this will bring you within 25 metres of the maze entrance.

The entrance to the maze is off the corner of Watling Street, just off/before the A5 Junction. You will see the signs that will direct you the rest of the way. Please search for Lichfield Maize Maze on Google Maps as this will bring you to the gate or: WHAT THREE WORDS ///tasteful.walks.focal

Frequently Asked Questions

Are pumpkins included in the admission ticket price? No. Pumpkins are picked from the field where they were grown and paid for separately at the gift shop on exit. 

What shall we wear? October is a wonderful time to visit the farm, but the British weather can be unpredictable. Visitors are recommended to wear: Warm layers, Waterproof clothing if rain is forecast - Wellies or sturdy footwear, as the fields can become muddy.

When is the Autumn Season open in 2026? The Autumn Season is open on the weekends of 3rd–4th, 10th–11th and 17th–18th October, followed by daily opening from Friday 23rd to Saturday 31st October. Book tickets.

Are there Quiet Time Sessions during October? Yes. There are two Quiet Time Sessions in 2026, on Sunday 4th October and Friday 23rd October. Entry is between 9.00am and 10.00am. Book here.

What size pumpkins are available? There are more than 70 varieties of pumpkins growing on the farm, ranging from tiny munchkins to giant pumpkins.
