Small Bells Ring invites you to hop aboard the RV Furor Scribendi, a floating library crammed full of short stories.

Small Bells Ring | Floating Library Coventry

This fully-functioning narrow boat (and the UK’s largest collection of short stories) will be mooring at three locations along the Coventry Canal on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 28 July to 3 September. Free to attend, no booking necessary.

THURSDAYS 12-5PM AT BRIDGE 4, STONEY STANTON ROAD

The floating library will make its way to Bridge 4, Stoney Stanton Road, Foleshill (CV6 5DR) Running every Thursday from 12–5pm from 29 July–2 September. In partnership with Coventry City Council’s Libraries and Information Service.

Whilst on the boat you can register for a library membership, or you can also register at your Canal and River Trust Visitor Centre.

Pull up a chair and enjoy a short story on the canal side, covid safety precautions will be in place. You don’t just have to spend a moment with these stories either, as books can be borrowed for an hour, a day, or all week.

FRIDAYS 2-6PM AT COVENTRY CANAL BASIN

You’re in for a surprise at the Coventry Canal Basin (CV1 4LY), as the RV Furor Scribendi moors up in the day for some impromptu readings alongside Ludic Room’s Roam and Dwell activity (finishes 27 Aug), each Friday 2-6pm from 30 July – 3 September.

Small Bells Ring is a Studio Morison project, co-commissioned with Super Slow Way in collaboration with Coventry Libraries & Lancashire Libraries supported by Canal & River Trust, BBC CWR & Coventry City Council.
