Summer Falconry Experience

Get up close with up to six majestic birds of prey, from elegant barn owls to powerful peregrine falcons, all in the stunning surroundings of our beautiful medieval Great Hall.

A Rare Hands-On Experience! Meet these incredible birds, learn all about the ancient art of falconry, and even hold one for a special photo opportunity!

Suitable for: ages 7+

Summertime Storytime at St Mary's Guildhall

This summer, step into a world of imagination and creativity at the historic St Mary’s Guildhall! Along with our regular daily history tours and admissions, we invite you to St. Mary's Guildhall to experience our Summertime Storytime theme:

Follow our fun-filled Arts Trail. You can see all sorts of fascinating art pieces throughout the building. Discover fun and interesting facts about each one.
Get crafty with seasonal puppet-making & writing prompts
Have a go at the puppetry activity in the majestic Great Hall
Join our magical Storytime Sundays with sound-scaping and musical fun at 11:15am & 1:15pm (Note: Only a 1:15pm session on 10 Aug). Children are welcome to participate by using instruments to enhance the storytelling experience.

'A Midsummer Night's Dream' Performance Workshop

St Mary’s Guildhall and Aunty Jen Productions invite your children to 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' Performance Workshop.

A unique opportunity for your children to join AJP this summer at St Mary’s Guildhall for some magical midsummer mayhem! Learn songs, dances and even some of the lines of Shakespeare’s 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream' and then join in with the professional actors and perform for family and friends.

Suitable for: 4 - 14 years
Dates: 22nd and 23rd August ( Individual workshops, these are one day workshops each).

Accessibility

For everyone to enjoy St Mary’s Guildhall, there is a lift to the first floor and rising platform into the Muniment Room. There is a new spiral staircase to the 2nd floor and where access is not step free, 360 panoramic views of the rooms are available on the digital tour tablets.

There are toilet and baby changing facilities on the ground floor located opposite the Cloisters.
