Tips for Attending Carol Concerts

Arrive early for popular free events, especially Carols by Candlelight - seating is first-come, first-served

Wrap up warm - many venues are historic buildings that can get chilly, even with heating

Bring cash for donations at free events

Check parking - Cathedral Quarter has limited parking, so consider park and ride or public transport

Family services are clearly marked - these are more relaxed with shorter running times

Some concerts serve refreshments in the interval, often including mulled wine and mince pies!

Why Attend a Carol Concert?

There's something truly magical about carol concerts at Christmas. Whether you're religious or not, the combination of beautiful music, candlelight, and historic venues creates a special atmosphere that really captures the spirit of the season.

Coventry Cathedral, rebuilt after the Blitz, is an especially moving place to celebrate Christmas, with its message of peace and reconciliation adding extra meaning to the festive celebrations.

Plus, singing along to your favourite carols (even if you don't quite know all the words!) is one of the most fun and festive things you can do in December!
