FarGo is proud to be partnering with CineCov and Mothers Who Make this year to present a day of free activities inside The Box which celebrate the power of Coventry’s female and non-binary makers and artisans.

Fargo Village International Women's Day Celebration | Events in Coventry

Sunday 6th March | 11am - 4pm

Pop-Up Shop (11am - 4pm)|The Box, Foyer

Find your perfect Mother’s Day Gift or browse the IWD22 pop-up shop, featuring seven incredible female and non-binary makers, including:

* Green Kitchen (Plant-based cakes and catering)
* Polly Merredew (Geometric Abstract Artist)
* Caroline Hackett (Textile Artist)
* Adele Mary Reed (Film Photographer and Video Maker)
* Cassie Leedham (Digital artist, painter, illustrator)
* Jessica Timmis (Fine artist)
* Hayley Diehl (Collage artist and photographer)

Free Workshops (11am & 2pm) | The Box, Foyer

Workshops are free and participants are welcome to simply drop-in on the day, or reserve a space here.

Paper Marbling with Rosie Bolton (11am - 1pm) 

Try out paper marbling with bookbinder and conservator Rosie Bolton. This beautiful technique has been used in bookbinding and furniture decoration for 600 years, and creates individual and intricate patterns on paper and other surfaces.

Creative Journaling with Lindsay Jane Hunter (2pm - 4pm)

Humans of all ages are welcome to join Lindsay Jane Hunter's Creative Journaling Workshop. Experiment with a range of mark making and writing prompts to explore your own identity in a creative, gentle and welcoming space.You do not need to be 'arty' to join this space - the focus is all about the process of getting into creative flow and not about the end 'product' at all. 

Film Programme (11am - 4pm) | The Box, Main space

Free, Drop-in Pop into the main space inside The Box to experience the 90-minute programme of independent shorts directed by local female and non-binary filmmakers, and curated by Coventry-based filmmaker, Adele Mary Reed (Mothers Who Make). Films play on a continuous loop throughout the day, so grab a tea, get comfy and tune in for as long as you can spare. This event is part of CineCov - a 12-month programme to transform the whole of Coventry into a cinema for its year as UK City of Culture. Made possible with support from the BFI, using funds from the National Lottery

Kids Activities  (11am - 4pm) | The Box, Foyer 

A creative kids activity zone will be available throughout the event to keep little hands busy!
