Albany Youth Theatre (AYT) runs at The Albany Theatre in Earlsdon and is made up of 4 groups, running every Wednesday and Thursday during term time.

Albany Youth Theatre is led by an experienced theatre practitioner who works closely with all members to develop performance skills, build confidence and ignite imagination! No previous drama experience is necessary to take part, just be ready to get involved and have fun!

All members will have the opportunity to work towards regular performance opportunities, exploring a wide range of theatre genres and techniques.

There are 4 groups available depending on age:

Albany Minis - for ages 5-7

• Thursdays 16:30-17:30
• £60.00 per term

Every session our mini’s will be developing performance skills, teamwork and confidence in a creative safe space igniting their imaginations. Our sessions will have different themes every week, ranging from going ‘out of this world’ to a ‘winter wonderland,’ with a range of games and activities. Mini’s have the opportunity to work towards performances at the end of each term to show off all of their hard work! Sign up here. 

Albany Juniors - for ages 8-11

• Wednesdays 17:00-18:15
• £70.00 per term

Exploring a range of different theatre genres and developing a wide variety of performance skills, our Junior sessions are perfect for young people that want to be creative. Our Juniors work towards regular performances, whether that be a performance of well-known script or something they have created themselves – each term is completely different. All members have the option to not only perform, but also learn about our backstage craft – whether that be directing scenes or learning about sound design. You do not need to have any previous theatre experience to take part, just be ready to get involved and have loads of fun! Sign up here. 

Albany Seniors - for ages 12-15

• Wednesdays 18:30-20:00
• £70.00 per term

Our Seniors get the opportunity to develop performance techniques, learn new skills and produce their own work. Sessions are led by all members’ ideas and interests and cover a variety of theatre genres. Every week we have a wide range of games and activities, all focussed on developing their skills and confidence, whilst having lots of fun! All members have the option to not only perform, but also learn about our backstage craft – whether that be writing their own script or learning about sound design, it is a great way for them to learn about all aspects of putting on a theatre performance. Albany Young Company - for ages 16-18

• Thursdays 18:00-20:00
• £80.00 per term

Our Young Company functions much like a professional theatre company, and gives our members the opportunity to develop a range of theatrical skills. Sessions will be skills-based, working on specific performance areas such as movement and vocals. Members will work towards performances that will be made by, for and with them – centred around their ideas and interests. Our Young Company will work collaboratively with our facilitators and technical team, having the opportunity to not only learn performance skills but also backstage craft such as technical theatre design.
