Song and Soil - Breaking Ground | Events in Coventry

  • Date: Sunday 31st March | 1pm - 3.30pm
  • Prices: FREE
  • Venue: Sherborne Valley Allotments, CV5 8NW (access off Four Pounds Ave)
  • Age guidance: All ages

For anyone who is new to Food Union these events typically happen on the last Sunday of every month and are where Food Union open up the allotment for a workshop, celebration or communal activity on our CV5 growing site, followed by a bonfire and live music. They're always tied to the season and typically involve sharing skills and knowledge about the land.

Join Food Union at their CV5 growing site for an afternoon of breaking ground both figuratively and literally as they turn the soil, ready for planting while getting to know the other local allotmenteers and green space enthusiasts. Once they’re finished they’ll retire to the bonfire for some hot food, cooked up by The Pod Café and live music TBC. This is a free event.

Booking

To help them prepare for numbers please book a place by emailing greg.muldoon@coventry.gov.uk. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. This is a working food growing site and there will be a fire. Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times. Food to be announced shortly. Food Union Applications will be available on the day for those who'd like to continue along with their growing journey.
