Next dates

Sorry, there are no future dates available

Song and Soil - Breaking Ground | Events in Coventry

  • Date: Saturday 30th March | 1pm - 3.30pm
  • Prices: FREE
  • Venue: Sherborne Valley Allotments, CV5 8NW (access off Four Pounds Ave)
  • Age guidance: All ages

Spring is nearly upon us and so it's time to start putting spades into the soil and getting the land ready for the growing season ahead.

Our main goal of the afternoon will be to rearrange one of our decorative flower beds that has become over crowded and messy. Led by our Coordinators, we'll be digging out the perineal plants, separating & identifying what we have and redistributing them between our other beds. On top of this we'll have other spring allotment tasks for all ages and experiences so everyone is welcome to join us.

When we're finished we'll retire to the fire for a drink and some cake where we'll be joined by our musical guest who we're excited to announce is the talented Bella Gaffney.

Bella Gaffney is a British singer-songwriter, guitar and banjo player who has established herself as a prominent figure in the folk music scene. Bella's music is characterised by her distinctive voice, intricate guitar playing, and her knack for storytelling. She draws inspiration from a wide range of sources, including her own life experiences, the natural world, and the rich history of folk music.
