A Coventry Way: 21 Circular Walks

Parks & Walks

A Coventry Way

“A Coventry Way” is a 40 mile long distance countryside route around the outskirts of the city of Coventry. Rarely more than 5 miles from the centre of Coventry, the majority of the path is off-road, and passes through mainly agricultural land in Warwickshire and Solihull. If you're interested in the full walk, find the details here.

21 Circular Walks around Coventry

There is a series of circular walks linked to the "A Coventry Way" route, ranging from 2.5 to 12 miles in length. The walks are contained within an area of a 6.5 mile radius from the centre of Coventry, and can be accessed using public transport.

Accessibility: All routes are off-road in the countryside with regular stiles to pass through. Scroll down for some shorter, stile-free routes.

The 21 Circular Walks plus book describes the 21 walks, each with a map and a route description. Every walk has its own wildlife notes, written by local ecologist Ian Tanner, and brief interest/history notes. Details of bus routes and bus stops are given, together with suitable car parking places. The latest edition was published in 2019. It is available to purchase from local outlets and can also be downloaded in a pdf version by following this link.

Full credit to the A Coventry Way Association for these fantastic walks. They organise Work Parties to clear overgrown footpaths and install and maintain kissing gates, footbridges and way-mark posts so that A Coventry Way and the 21 Circular Walks remain open for walkers to enjoy.
