Netball for everybody – no leagues, no commitment - just fun! 

Netball Newbies Coventry is a welcoming, supportive group for anyone who wants to enjoy netball at their own pace. Sessions are run by a qualified umpire and coach and are designed to be relaxed, friendly, and confidence-boosting.

What to expect at Netball Newbies:

• A gentle warm-up to get bodies moving
• Simple drills to learn or refresh the basics
• Fun match play, optional and always supportive
• Fun for everyone - take the session at your own pace

Netball Newies is perfect for you if:

• You played netball years ago and fancy giving it another go
• Are a regular player but want something more relaxed
• Have never played before
• Don’t feel “super fit” (you really don’t need to be!)

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to commit to annual fees? No - there is a pay as you go option where you pay only for the sessions you attend.

Do I need to have played before? Definitely not! Everyone is welcome, and the qualified coaches/umpires and members are happy to help you learn. 

I haven’t played since school - what about rules? No worries! Most of the group are in the same boat - you’ll pick things up quickly and have fun doing it. 

Can my daughter attend with me? Spectators of all ages are welcome (space permitting), but participants must be at least 14 to join in. 

Can men join? Currently sessions are women only, but if there’s enough interest there may be a mixed/men’s session in future - contact the team if you’re interested! 

Will we be playing in a league? No - this is purely social netball. Teams rotate each week with short, fun games (about 5–10 minutes each). 

I play for a club/league - can I still attend? Yes! Many experienced players enjoy our relaxed sessions with no pressure or commitment.
