Coundon Wedge

Coundon Wedge is a stunning stretch of countryside on the north-west outskirts of Coventry. It is popular with walkers, dog walking, and families enjoying a picnic! There is plenty of open space, perfect for the grown-ups to relax on the picnic blanket, and for the kids to have a run around. Read more about Coundon Wedge here.

Canley Ford

Canley Ford forms part of the Millennium Green Local Nature Reserve, and is a great place for all the family to explore. The main footpath is along Canley Brook, which is well worth exploring for wildlife, and it's a great paddling spot for dogs! Wyken Slough Nature Reserve

Wyken Pool is the largest expanse of water in Coventry, and there is plenty of open space perfect for a picnic with family and friends. There is a lot of wildlife to discover, including plenty of ducks and swans - so don't forget the duck food! Read all about Wyken Slough Nature Reserve here.

War Memorial Park

War Memorial Park is Coventry's premier park, it is hugely popular with locals and visitors, and there is lots to see and do. There's a fantastic play area, a splash park in the summer, formal gardens, and two fantastic cafés. Spencer Park

Spencer Park in Earlsdon is a great place for a picnic, and a family game of football or Frisbee! There is a large open grassed area, bordered by a beautiful avenue of trees, and overlooking the rear of King Henry VIII School. Caludon Castle Park

Caludon Castle Park is smaller in size than other parks around the city, but it's well worth a visit. The site contains two ancient monuments endorsed by English Heritage, including the remains of Caludon Castle which is Grade 1 listed. It's got a fantastic medieval themed play area, with its very own draw-bridge and shields of armour! It's a great place to enjoy a couple of hours, so why not take a picnic. Find out more here.

Ryton Pools Country Park

Ryton Pools Country Park is a brilliant place for a day out with family and friends. There are 2 fantastic play areas, a lake with ducks to feed, a miniature railway, and a lovely café for a cuppa or an ice cream. Coundon Hall Park

Coundon Hall Park is one of Coventry's newer and lesser well known parks, with playing fields, well equipped play areas and an area of woodland. If you're looking for somewhere quiet with lots of space for the kids to run around, then this is ideal. Find out more about Coundon Hall Park here.

Coombe Abbey Park

Coombe Abbey Park offers 500 acres of beautiful gardens, woodland, and lakeside walks, and it's perfect for a family day out, a long walk, or a quiet picnic. There are plenty of picnic benches all around the site, and designated places for BBQs. If you fancy a hot coffee with your picnic, then head to the café in the Park.
